A Richard Sandoval restaurant with locations in Tokyo, Mexico City, Cabo San Lucas, Belgrade, Serbia, Scottsdale and Snowmass Village is opening next year in Denver’s Cherry Creek.
By spring, Toro Latin Kitchen & Lounge will replace Social Fare, which closed over the weekend, at the JW Marriott. It lasted less than two years and replaced Second Home Kitchen + Bar, which operated for nine years.
Where the Marriott’s Social Fare didn’t fare so well, Sandoval’s Toro will try for a Pan-Latin steakhouse and Asian fusion concept. As of now, we know that the menu will feature a ceviche bar and cocktails made from tequilas, mezcals and other Latin American spirits.
Sandoval operates four other restaurants in Colorado, including Tamayo and La Sandia in Denver. His Maya concept is located in Beaver Creek, and Venga Venga Cantina & Tequila Bar also runs out of Snowmass Village. The Mexican-born chef’s empire is based in Denver with more than 45 restaurants around the world.
